Holocaust Memorial Day 2021
Swansea Council is asking communities to join us and ‘be the light in the darkness’ on Holocaust Memorial Day.
Each year’s HMD has a theme, and this year is ‘Be the light in the darkness’. A message that resonates even louder as we continue to live through the Coronavirus pandemic.
Being physically together whilst living with the challenges of Coronavirus may not be possible. That is why for 2021, Holocaust Memorial Day will be different and to celebrate ‘HMD Together’, you are being asked to share how you mark HMD in meaningful ways with other people – even if you can’t gather together in larger groups.
This could be in a poem, in a song, in artwork, photography or just lighting a candle. However you can show that you can be the light in the darkness this HMD.
Send your video or copy of your artwork to Special.events@swansea.gov.uk by Thursday 7th January 2021 and we will share your tribute as part of our ‘HMD Together’ online event.
